JEWS: WHAT WE SAY, WHAT WE DO
This 30 week introduction to Judaism class surveys Jewish life and thought. Covering a new topic each week -- Shabbat, Holidays, Sacred Texts, Prayer, History, Israel, “Chosenness”, and the Jewish life cycle -- this class offers a solid background in the ideas, practices, and expressions of Jewish life from ancient times to the present. We will focus on weekly readings of key texts, conduct discussions on topics ranging from historical events to the sacred traditions of Jewish life, and have hands-on ritual demonstrations.
The class meets weekly in Rabbi Bachman’s study. Come all 30 times or just drop in—newcomers are always elcome.
